Congratulations Neil!

Neil Haskell started out dancing at the age of 5 at The David DeMarie Dance Studio in Clarence, NY (a suburb of Buffalo). In his pre-teen years he was also a competitive gymnast in the Empire State Games. In addition to his curriculum at David DeMarie, he also studied ballet at the American Academy of Ballet in Williamsville, NY. He furthered his ballet training by attending The Chautauqua Institution's Summer Ballet intensive on full scholarship 3 summers in a row. At David DeMarie Dance he was a member of our National Competition Team and consistently won Regional Titles of Junior, Teen, and Male Dancer of the Year at the American Dance Awards. In July of 2005 he was awarded the NATIONAL Title of America's Male Dancer of the Year at the American Dance Awards Nationa000000ls in Boston, MA. In the fall of 2006 he attended his first year as a dance major at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA on a full scholarship. He received his Equity card through performing with Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera (CLO) in the summer of 2006.
On a whim, he decided to audition for the Twyla Tharp/Billy Joel production of "Movin' Out". Although he was not cast, months later the casting directors called him to audition for Twyla Tharp's new Broadway show, "The Times They Are A Changin". After several callbacks he was cast in that production, and he made his Broadway debut at the age of 19. Unfortunately the show closed pre-maturely in November of 2006.
Since then, Neil has continued to take dance classes at Broadway Dance Center and Steps On Broadway. He continued to audition for several venues just like every hopeful dancer in the industry.
He recently just finished filming a 4 episode run on ABC's "One Life To Live". Neil also just completed filming the movie "The American Mall" for MTV which will air in August of this year. He is now appearing in a lead roll in the off broadway musical "Altar Boyz".
